Liverpool Soundcity Homecoming Queen

I'm super proud to be performing in my hometown at the most excellent festival Liverpool Soundcity this May... I'm a long time fan and punter of this festi, which with 10 years under its belt, went from free city centre multi-venue event to standalone Docks site supernova headliner big bash!

Back to its roots for 2018, this year's fest is in the much celebrated and regenerated Baltic Triangle and I'm performing in the afternoon on the opening day Saturday May 5th
(which means you'll defo see me pogoing to the DMAs later on!)

You will not regret popping along, such fantastic music and great fun peoples (I've made mates for lyf at this do) and I'll be enjoying a Homecoming Queen drink or three, so do join me!

New stuff feels like...

New stuff from your fav liverbirdy SheBeat coming real soon...

Hang on to your hats & in a few weeks you can own the new EP on digital (3tracks) or CD (5tracks) with live shows in the diary to celebrate ^_^

Feels Like is the second EP I've created thus far in this SheBeat World, I recorded them with the lovely James Mellor down on Lark Lane at Motor Museum Studios earlier this year...
I wanted to bring you a sofa session vibe so there's very little jiggery pokery - what you hear is what you get when, hopefully the finished product feels like I'm sat in your living room playing my wares directly... Speaking of which, in the now grand tradition of SofarSounds, I'd love the play some intimate gigs for you and yours so get in touch if you want this geetar gal to come out and play!
The EP will be officially released Aug 31, 2016 but you can hear a snippet of my title track on this Insta clip  And another of the tracks on my soundcloud page

Thanks so much to BBC Introducing for my recent plays - support from new music radio of all shapes and sizes is amazing ^_^ I got a PRS report saying someone was playing some SheBeat in Spain - Olé!

Watch this space for news of live performances coming this autumn to Cornwall, Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow and London...

The C Word

A friend suggested to me last week that my music is Country Indie Blues, meanwhile I have pitched for setting my tent up as Acoustic Folk Pop... but given so many influences it's hard to know how to best present - well, tag, your music making efforts! I love Dolly Parton and Taylor Swift as much as the next girl and people oft say I remind them of country artists they love such as Lucinda Williams and the like, so maybe there is some Nashville in my writing afterall!

But it's far from clear cut... For example, my EP features what I would say are my most pop-like songs, but they also have indie, blues, retro, country influences... While this track Won't Be The Same - a very mellow track - is more blues, folk, pop - or is it? Who am I to tell you what you think my music should be categorised as in your little brainbox?!

While I have a small existential crisis, do feel free to feedback how you think I tackle this 'what am I?' question, meanwhile ponder a few live dates I have coming up in this here Liverpool...

Thursday Aug 6th Writers Club, Constellations from 7.30pm
Saturday Aug 8th LIMF Bandstand, Sefton Park
Saturday Sept 5th BeerdFest, Constellations
